ME

I'm a creative writing major set to graduate in 2010.  Within a few years, hopefully I'll be working at a publishing company, but I am also considering grad school.

My favorite book is The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman.

My favorite places are Schloss Neuschwannstein in Germany and Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Genre Fiction Writing

Spring 2009

Class Description:

"A workshop in writing genre fiction - horror, science fiction, detective, romance, etc. Analysis of published examples." - FDU Spring 2009 Course Booklet

In Genre Fiction Writing, we read short stories and then applied what we learned in short writing assignments (seen below).  We also wrote two ten-page stories, which were workshopped throughout the semester, and then chose one of these to revise for our final project.

Because I love writing, editing, and science fiction/fantasy, this course has been one of my favorites.

The Assignments:

The Stories:

  • "Pill" Draft 1
  • "Anaphael" Draft 1
  • Nameless, Faceless ("Pill", submitted final)
